Treatment Breakdown by Alliance, 2013-2016

This website presents the numbers and percentages of tumours diagnosed in England in 2013 - 2016 recorded as receiving radiotherapy, chemotherapy or tumour resection. The results are presented by cancer Alliance, and compared to England as a benchmark.

The methodology is described in the standard operating procedure CAS-SOP #4.5 Linking treatment tables - chemotherapy, tumour resections and radiotherapy.

Analytical notes:

Other care represents the group of patients who had no record of chemotherapy, tumour resection, or radiotherapy in the time frame assessed. This may include patients who received other treatments (such as hormonal therapy or management of symptoms), treatment outside of the time frame assessed, treatment in a private setting, or there may be data missing from the datasets used.

Tumour resections have been defined for 23 sites.

These percentages have not been case-mix adjusted.

When looking at independent treatments for 'All Malignant Neoplasms', note that 'other malignant neoplasms' are excluded from the surgery figures, but not the chemotherapy and radiotherapy figures. See the Information tab for more details.
